NONCODE
altogether contains 212,527 sequences (in NONCODE v2.0) from 861 biological organisms, including eukaryotes, eubacteria, archebacteria, and vira and viroids. Each entry in the database will be searchable both by one the 109 "traditional" classes and by its process-function class (pfclass). Each ncRNA has also been annotated with one of five specific mechanisms (basepair sequence, structural complementarity, spatial blocking, catalysis or epimodification) by which it acts. For 172,670 entries, subdivison according to nine critiera such as whether the ncRNA is disease related, is transcribed from repeats or imprinted domains, stress induced or repressed, or specific to species, sex, tissue, or developmental stage.
The figures list below are distribution of class, pfclass, length, location, mechanism and role of all unique ncRNA in NONCODE v1.0.
